FEMA Turns On Trump After Disgusting Thursday Morning Puerto Rico Tweets

When one offers their help, the ideal way to do so is to offer your unconditional help to see someone through a tough situation. That means, you don’t pull out early when it gets too hard, too expensive, or too much to handle. However, when you’re Donald Trump and you run the U.S. government, kindness and charity isn’t the top priority. Fortunately, there are plenty of people who refuse to go with the status quo and follow behind Trump blindly.

Early Thursday morning, Trump complained that America was having to help Puerto Rico too much and eventually Puerto Rico would have to do it on their own. Of course, he forgot Puerto Rico is considered a U.S. territory and the people in Puerto Rico are considered natural-born citizens. Regardless, he tweeted:

‘…We cannot keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been amazing (under the most difficult circumstances) in P.R. forever!’

There’s an amount of ugliness to the tweet that cannot be described. Trump, who claims to be Christian, is complaining about helping a desperate people survive a major catastrophe. God doesn’t like ugly.

Fortunately, however, Eileen Lainez, the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for FEMA, spoke out and directly contradicted the president promising the people of Puerto Rico the help they need and are entitled to. She tweeted:

[email protected] will be w/Puerto Rico, USVI, every state, territory impacted by a disaster every day, supporting throughout their response & recovery’

She also tweeted a link to a press release from FEMA, giving updates on the situation. There are currently “more than 10,000 federal civilian personnel and military service members” working on the island 24 hours a day trying to restore the aid the island in the recovery process.

It’s absolutely shameful that President Trump would sit and complain about the cost of helping Puerto Ricans. They aren’t just Puerto Ricans. They are U.S. citizens. Trump has preached an agenda of nationalism and focusing inward on America. Well, Puerto Rico is a part of America. America first. Make it great again.

Several Twitter users chimed in and voiced their disgust for the president and his selfish nature. Many also pointed out that FEMA has made some questionable moves in the recovery process also.
